Control arm bushings are crucial for connecting wheels to the chassis, maintaining suspension geometry, and absorbing NVH. Standard rubber bushings aim for comfort and control balance.

Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings elevate control while retaining street comfort. The advanced polyurethane minimizes NVH, ensuring improved steering feel, turn-in, responsiveness, and overall chassis composure.

As Europe's top suspension bushing manufacturer, Powerflex specializes in premium polyurethane bushings, precision-crafted for durability and enhanced performance. These bushings outlast OEM rubber counterparts, delivering an engaging driving experience.

For easy installation, Powerflex recommends using Powerflex Copper Grease PCG1. Periodic reapplication extends the squeak-free service life of the bushings.

Powerflex street bushings suit street-driven cars and occasional autocross or track use. Powerflex Black Series bushings, with 95A durometer polyurethane, are ideal for dedicated track cars, 25% stiffer than street bushings.

Powerflex proudly offers a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser on all products.

Control arms, and their integrated ball joints, are some of the most crucial components on the MINI suspension. The control arms literally control the wheel and suspension as they go through their range of motions. A faulty or worn control arm or ball joint is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening problem so make sure they are inspected and replaced at regular intervals. For a street-driven car we advise yearly inspection and a full replacement every 3-4 years. For track-driven cars these should be inspected before every event and replaced every two years.

Our engineers designed this drift kit which allows +65mm more track width (per side) than stock. Wider track width reduces the amount of load transfer to the outside when cornering, increases cornering power, and allows more inner clearance for meaty wheel and tire setups or brake ducts.

Anytime that you replace your front control arms (which should be often), you must replace your control arm bushings. The reason is because it's hard to tell if you're bushings are really bad and they are often destroyed when removed. These bushings have the hole in the center and came standard on the 318i/325i.

For convenience, we carry the steel bushing carrier brackets (part# TSU9995PB3) with new hardware which will save you downtime caused by pressing out the old bushings and pressing in the new bushings.

This item fits the following BMWs:

The front control arm bushings is the Achilles heel on the E39 models. The original factory bushings are fluid filled and rely on the fluid to absorb vibration and resist deflection. When the fluid is gone the rubber left over cannot match the original bushing's strength. The left over rubber is not stiff enough to resist the movements from the suspension. The result is a lot of vibration and reduced feedback and response from the steering.

Meyle has addressed this issue with bushings that are not fluid-filled. The bushing is made of solid rubber that will last longer than the original bushing and is a bit stiffer than new originals for better response and feel. The lack of play from the solid rubber design will mean sharper steering, restoring much of the car's precision and 'connected' feel.

This control arm comes with the Meyle HD bushings already pressed in. This makes for an easy swap out-swap in install. These arms replace the existing stock upper control arms - otherwise known as a tension strut or strut support arm. It's the arm with the twist.

Meyle is a German brand in business since 1958 and all of their products are TUV approved and meet or exceed ISO standards. All Meyle HD parts come with a 4-year, unlimited mileage warranty.

Features:

  • 4 Year Warranty

  • All metal ball joints are more reliable and longer lasting than stock

  • Bushings are solid rubber rather than fluid filled, providing longevity and handling feel improvements

This item fits the following BMWs:

The stock Genuine BMW front "upper" control arms (31108095667 & 31108095668) are great for standard daily driving and occasional spirited driving, but tend to fall flat on the track due to the soft rubber bushings causing excess deflection, creating undesirable handling characteristics. In order to address this issue, Turner now offers new Performance Front Tension Rods with upgraded FK Spherical Bearings! These tension rods offer multiple benefits over stock control arms, helping to keep your BMW under control and on the track. The biggest upgrade over the stock control arm is the replacement of the rubber bushing with JMX hardened Teflon-lined low-friction FK Spherical Bearings. This allows for smooth control arm articulation, without the standard mushy feel you'd expect from rubber bushings. As a result, you get a more responsive feel that inspires confidence lap after lap! The PTFE liner is chemically bonded to the inner diameter of the race. The liner offers a very high load carrying capacity and has greatly increased dynamic wear characteristics, offering robust reliability for both street and track use. Another benefit of these Performance Tension Rods is increased caster adjustment, allowing precise alignment for optimal turn-in response and to compensate for variances between left and right caster. Adjustable Tension Rod Features: Gun drilled and Blue Anodized 2024 Aluminum links to reduce unsprung weight Rotating 6061-T6 Aluminum Clamp design Hardened JMX high misalignment low friction 3-piece Teflon lined FK Heim joints/rod ends Stainless steel anti-dive spacers ASTM A574 socket head cap bolts are used for maximum articulation with a minimum tensile strength of 170,000 psi Sold as a pair. Made in the USA.

BMW’s are known to have failure prone front thrust arm bushings.  The flexible rubber bushings, even those found in M performance models, allow significant movement of the front wheels to maximize daily driving comfort, but also allow considerable alignment change.  This results in a disconnected and numb road feel, standing between you and a confidence inspiring driving experience.  Eventually the fluid filled rubber bushings fatigue and crack due to continual deflection and ozone degradation, and eventually the damping fluid leaks out resulting in complete failure.

For the enthusiast looking for superior performance and longevity with a crisp, confidence-inspiring driving experience, our sealed ball joint monoballs are the best solution available!  Our experience with spherical front control arm ball joints go back to those we designed and used in our IMSA E90 328i and E92 M3 racecars (GS class Champions in 2011).  We wanted to offer E31, E32, E34, E38, E39, E53, E60, E63, E64, and E83 owners similar levels of handling precision and control for the track and street.

The bearing housing is precision CNC machined from 6061-T6 anodized aluminum and features a knurled OD to ensure a perfect press fit, and utilize a sealed OEM BMW ball joint for exceptional quality and durability, making them completely at home on both the street and track with no compromise.  We have done extensive street, autocross, and track testing to ensure the ball joint used in this bushing design excels in each setting.  The advantage of a sealed ball joint is that it eliminates all unwanted deflection while still allowing complete bind-free movement throughout suspension travel, resulting in exceptional control of wheel alignment.  What you get is superior steering precision, turn-in response, direct braking feedback, and better handling.

In short, if you're seeking the ultimate in precise, predictable handling and control, with crisp braking response and a long service life that’s equally at home on the street or track - look no further. We have you covered.

We offer these thrust arms with the monoball bushings pre-installed for your convenience. Since BMW recommends the control arms be replaced for every other bushing change, we prefer to sell these as a pre-assembled set. The bushings are also available separately if you wish to source your own control arms.

Features:

Bearing housing

  • Precision CNC machined from 6061-T6 blue anodized aluminum
  • Knurled OD to provide the perfect fit for the wide range of thrust arm bore diameters among brands.
  • CNC machined 304ss ball joint sleeve inserts, providing a precision fit between the ball joint and the subframe.

Bearing

  • OEM BMW sealed and greased ball joint for exceptional durability and service life.

Performance

  • Nearly instantaneous, crisp steering and braking response.
  • Maintenance free, long lasting performance.
  • Improved road feel without undesirable NVH.

Control arm bushings play a key role in connecting the wheels to the chassis of the vehicle. Tasked with keeping suspension geometry in check while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber bushings were engineered to provide a balance of comfort and control. As a factory bushing ages, it becomes brittle and begins to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play in the suspension joint. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk forward after the car comes to a stop and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushing with a full polyurethane unit or using a bushing insert, this play is eliminated since the suspension joint is being supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver.

Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Expect improved steering feel, turn in, more responsive handling and overall improved chassis composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings.

Poweflex is a leading manufacturer of aftermarket suspension bushings. Using state of the art design and manufacturing, all replacement bushings are engineered to out-perform and out-last the ones that came in the car. Each line of bushings is meticulously tested and then re-tested to ensure perfect fitment and enduring quality through the life of the vehicle. A full lifetime warranty backs every one of their products and demonstrates the level of confidence and commitment Powerflex has to their customers.

There's finally an option to buy housings separate from the bushings, this way you don't have to live with the stress placed on the stock housings when pressing the old bushing out. The biggest benefit come in when there isn't already a pre-pressed in option for poly and spherical upgrades, this leaves the only option of pressing the old bushings out. Through out in-house testing when designing our poly and spherical upgrades we noticed that pressing the bushing out caused stress in some cases creating hairline cracks in the housing leaving it vulnerable to failure.

Our experience with spherical front control arm ball joints goes back to those we designed and used in our IMSA E90 328i and E92 M3 race cars (GS class Champions in 2011). We wanted to offer as many BMW owners possible a similar level of handling, precision, and control for the track and street.

Utilizing a sealed OEM BMW ball joint for exceptional quality and durability, making them completely at home on both the street and track with no compromise.

We offer these control arms with the monoball bearings pre-installed for your convenience. Since BMW recommends the control arms be replaced for every other bushing change, we prefer to sell these as a pre-assembled set. The bushings are also available separately if you wish to source your own control arms.

Features:

Control Arm Bearing

  • CNC machined corrosion resistant 304 Stainless steel shell, bolt sleeves, & snap rings
  • Sealed spherical ball joint for long service life & maintained OE fitment
  • Suspension pre-load is no longer required when torquing the control arm hardware

Performance

  • Nearly instantaneous, crisp steering and braking response.
  • Maintenance free, long lasting performance.
  • Improved road feel without undesirable NVH.

Fits the following BMW models:

2004+ E83 X3 X3 2.5i, X3 3.0i, X3 3.0si, X3 xDrive30i

Here at Turner we understand the importance of an upgrade that will get the results you need on the track and still be tolerable on the drive around town. When it comes to control arms on the track, making them as stiff as you can (usually using solid mounts) is the best way to increase your driving precision by eliminating the deflection of rubber. The next best thing to create a balance would be to stiffen up the control arm with polyurethane, giving you the option of a more stock like feel with 80a or closer to the solid feel with 95a durometers. These poly bushings will give your control arms a direct connection between your suspension and the body of the car eliminating the slop felt under take-off and braking so you feel more in control of your vehicle.

*Featuring a delrin sleeve to eliminate heat deformation and premature failure.

Anytime that you replace your front control arms (which should be often), you must replace your control arm bushings. The reason is because it's hard to tell if you're bushings are really bad and they are often destroyed when removed. These bushings have the hole off-center to give your car a little more track, caster, and camber. They are a solid rubber bushing that is great for the street. These came as standard equipment on E30 M3s (8/89-later) and 1995 E36 M3s.

For convenience, we carry the steel bushing carrier brackets (part# TSU9995PB3) with new hardware which will save you downtime caused by pressing out the old bushings and pressing in the new bushings.

This upper front control arm (BMW may call it a wishbone) comes with the inner bushings and is a direct replacement for the original part, made by Febi-Bilstein.

Control arms, and their integrated ball joints, are some of the most crucial components on a BMW suspension.

This arm includes the outer ball joint and inner rubber bushing.

Powerflex street bushings are ideal for street driven vehicles and those that see occasional autocross or track time. Need bushings for a dedicated track car?

Tasked with keeping the vehicles rear end firmly mounted while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber subframe bushings were engineered to provide a balance of control while keeping the ride quality soft and supple. As a factory bushings age, they become brittle and begin to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play, or movement in the subframe. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk or "thunking" noise under acceleration and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushings with full polyurethane this play is eliminated since the subframe is being held in place by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering and acceleration inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver.
