Brake pad wear sensors are a convenient part of the braking system, notifying the driver of when the material on the brake pads are getting low and need to be serviced. Unfortunately it is common in custom or upgraded braking systems that the pad wear sensor is non-existent or does not mate properly with the connector on your vehicle, leaving you with a brake pad wear warning every time you start your vehicle.

ECS Tuning has developed this direct-fit Brake Pad Wear Sensor Bypass to alleviate this issue. This sensor bypass will trick the vehicle's electronics into thinking that the brake pads have adequate pad material to keep the dashboard warning from appearing. No more unnecessary warnings when installing a big brake kit or your own custom setup. This bypass is a plug-and-play component that requires no modifications so you can revert back to your OEM setup if necessary.

The issue with coilovers is the rough ride due to a drastic drop and much higher spring rates. When you have a higher spring rate like coilovers, it takes much more force to compress the spring, leading to a much more rigid ride. ECS lowering springs provide a happy medium between the factory suspension and coilover suspension. Our springs are stiffer than factory but softer than a coilover spring to achieve the balance of increased performance and aesthetics while retaining a comfortable ride.

Fine-tuning your coilover damping shouldn’t mean stripping out your rear seats or interior panels. On many applications, rear shock adjusters are hidden behind carpet, trim, or seatbacks, making quick adjustments a hassle.

The ECS Rear Damping Extension Kit solves that problem with a clean and functional solution. These flexible extensions relocate the adjustment knobs to an easily accessible point above the rear shock towers, letting you dial in your suspension from inside the cabin, no disassembly required.

Installation is straightforward: simply drill a small access hole in your interior trim and route the extension cables through. The adjustment knobs can be removed to allow the line to pass through smaller openings, minimizing cutting. For proper installation, be sure to fully loosen the set screw, insert the cable, then securely tighten it using the provided Allen key.

What is spring rate?
​You may ask yourself "what is the spring rate and how does it affect my ride?" Spring rate is the amount of force needed to compress a spring one inch. For example if you have a spring rate of 300lbs per inch it will take 300lbs of force to compress the spring one inch. An average coilover for your F3x has over 400 lbs/in for the front and over 500 lbs/in for the rear, this means that it will take over 400lbs of force to compress your front spring one inch and over 500lbs of force to compress the rear one inch. The higher the spring rate, the more rigid your ride is going to be. ECS lowering springs for your F3x have a spring rate of 184 lbs/in in the front and 462 lbs/in, an increase over factory but much less than a coilover. Strong stopping power - Increased coefficient of friction offers satisfying stopping power when cold (a necessity for a street pad!) and even more G-force-inducing power when they warm up. With cold and warm friction comparable to Hawk HPS (and higher than many other street pads) the stopping experience with the EP24 pad is impressive for street-driven vehicles on streetable tires. Positive initial bite - Race pads have the reputation of acting like an on/off switch, which is a no-go for a pad for a street application. The EP24 offers OE-level initial bite for low-stress braking in stop-and-go situations. Reasonable dust - Race pads utilize a high metallic composition. Pads that use high amounts of metal not only dust terribly, but also will bake onto wheels with high temperatures and are a bear to clean. This is not the case with these performance street pads. Now using these pads on most of our shop cars, we’ve found over time that dust is comparable to factory pads in most applications (with greatly improved braking performance). Quiet braking - It’s not a race pad, so it shouldn’t squeal like one. While not as quiet as our ceramic DD23 pad, you’ll still be able to drive your spouse to dinner. Long life - This should be an obvious one. Even in a performance pad, your daily driver pads should last and last, so that was key in selecting our ideal compound. This compound wears slower and is kinder to rotors than two of the top competitors.

In the pursuit of a really great brake pad for daily driving, we’ve tested a wide range of brake pads. After thousands of test miles, iterating through a variety of pad compounds, we’ve landed on the ideal blend for our DD23 Daily Driver ceramic pad.

Features:

Good stopping power - Brake pads need to stop your car, period, so this is key. We focused on selecting a compound that offers a healthy level of friction (both when hot and when cold) for safe, positive stopping power.

Positive initial bite - You should feel your brakes engage as you press the pedal, but it should not feel like an on/off switch! Advanced ceramic composition means you’ll enjoy a smooth transition on and off of the brake pedal, meaning your passengers will have a comfortable ride in stop-and-go traffic. We’ve hit a good balance here.

Very low-dust - Some factory-installed pads are eye-poppingly dusty, which is a no-go for us. Thanks to the composition of this ceramic pad, which is copper-free and contains a negligible amount of other metals, dust is both lighter in color and very limited in amount. We’ve improved on the “dust factor” without sacrificing on bite and stopping power as a good compromise, which will be a win for anyone who doesn’t detail daily (or anyone who does, too!)

Quiet braking - It’s not a race pad, so it shouldn’t squeal like one. Extremely low metallic composition means they will not squeal. DD23 is comfortable and quiet - both on the ears and in lack of vibration transmitted through the cabin.

Long life - This should be an obvious one. Your daily driver pads should last and last, so that was key in selecting our ideal compound. This is another benefit to having ceramic material composition versus a softer organic pad (which have higher metallic and various organic elements) and wear much faster. Ours are kind to rotors, too (no accelerated wear characteristics) for many miles of motoring.

Drastically improve the looks of your vehicle while improving your vehicle's handling characteristics and/or easily adjust your wheel fitment to allow for the proper clearance when installing parts such as new wheels, big brake kits, or lowering suspension components.Interference from components such as shocks, springs, or control arms are a common issue when installing wheel that are not a direct OE size replacement. By moving your wheels a few millimeters each, you can give yourself enough clearance for proper wheel fitment and give your car a wider stance in the process.
