This intake tube, also known as an inlet, is a common culprit for vacuum leaks. It supplies air to the turbocharger and is typically made of plastic. However, due to frequent exposure to heat, it is prone to developing cracks or tears.

The N20 airbox includes a built-in MAF sensor. If this tube tears, it can lead to a post-MAF leak and cause your engine to run lean. This is a serious issue that requires prompt replacement to avoid potential damage to your engine.

It is recommended for any vehicle where the boost pressure has been increased by an ECU software upgrade and for unmodified vehicles operating in warmer climates, as a solution to the many failures that have occurred, where the original rubber diaphragm splits, which causes a loss of boost pressure. Unfortunately the failure doesn’t always result in a check engine light as the valve can still be blown open by the boost pressure, so you may not be aware that you are losing power due to this.
