The 3.0 Liter B58 turbo engine of the specified BMW models is equipped with an indirect charge-air cooling circuit. So the cooling of the charged air is realized by a water-cooled intercooler, which is integrated directly into the intake manifold. The WAGNERTUNING intake manifold with integrated intercooler has got a new performance core which was specially developed for the high requirements and individual mounting position of the B58.1 engine and offers 128% more external core volume compared to the original intercooler. The calculated ratio between the inner and outer cooling surface generates a maximum heat transfer and at the same time the best possible internal airflow. With the help of CFD simulations, the CNC-milled end tanks were designed for optimal airflow conditions. The result is an excellent cooling property with minimal back pressure. That`s why this kit is also perfect for racing use. An optimal cooling effect of the charged air with a significant increase in performance! Vargas Turbo has released their very own BMW B58 vacuum/boost adapter. These go inline with the intake manifold fitting and provide a full boost/vacuum signal from the manifold. This fitting adds two 1/8" NPT bungs to accept any fitting that has 1/8" NPT threads. You can choose three configuration options: Fitting by itself Fitting with one 1/4" barb and one plug Fitting with two 1/4" barbs Once installed it tucks perfectly under your engine cover. These are perfect for running your PI switch off manifold pressure, which is much more accurate than the charge pipe, and they are also great for BOVs running the proper size line without having to drill a hole in your manifold. These do space out any sensors etc giving inaccurate readings like some of the other brands do.

The B58 Eventuri intake system is another example of a “Complete System” principal. It demonstrates the perfect balance between allowing for unrestricted airflow with our open filter housing whilst maintaining low IAT by cold air saturation with our scoop and shield combination. Every detail has been meticulously developed from the prepreg carbon pieces to the double layer heat shields. This intake sets a new benchmark in design and craftsmanship for the B58 platform.
The B58 Eventuri system uses a Patent Pending Carbon fiber Housing which provides an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbo. Not just another cone filter with a heat shield but a unique design which invokes the Venturi affect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce the drag on the turbo.
The filter housing comprises of a high flow filter, aluminium cowl, laser cut bracket, carbon heat shroud and the carbon pod itself, which extends to incorporate the MAF sensor and turbo tube. The carbon pod shrouds the reverse mounted filter and smoothly shapes the airflow down to the integrated MAF intake tube. This smooth reduction in cross sectional area invokes the Venturi effect where the airflow accelerates whilst maintaining laminar conditions. It can be thought of as a large velocity stack. The carbon filter housing and the inlet tube have been integrated to be one continuous piece. This reduces the number of internal interfaces and allows for smoother airflow to the turbo. The diameter of the tube smoothly transitions from the required diameter at the MAF sensor end to the larger diameter of the turbo inlet.
A lot of attention was placed on the heat shielding since the intake is located next to the exhaust manifold. For this Eventuri used a double layer main shield with a silver finish on the exhaust side and black on the intake side. The silver layer reflects radiant heat from the exhaust and the black layer absorbs and radiant heat on the inlet side. The air gap between the two layers acts as an insulator to stop the conductive heat spreading to the inner layer.

The kit includes a new aluminum intake tube with CNC machined MAP sensor mount, precision cut heat shield with mounting tabs, and a new high flow air filter. The MAP sensor mount has been CNC machined out of 6061 aluminum to retain the factory fitment for proper readings. It is than TIG welded to the aluminum intake tube for proper placement. The main part of the intake is the high flow air filter. It features an inlet on the end cap to allow for an even larger volume of air to come through than a standard cone filter. The design improves air filtration while increasing air flow. The air filter is finished off with the VR logo on the rubber end cap. The heat shield is water jetted from aluminum with rubber trim to provide a secure fit and seal when the hood closes. It is designed to prevent direct hot air from the engine being sucked into the filter.
