This contamination reduces the fluid's ability to act as a lubricant, eventually leading to increased wear and tear within the transmission. To prevent excess wear and keep your transmission in top shape, the fluid and filter should be replaced regularly. As per ZF's recommendations, we suggest performing a full service on your 8HP automatic transmission every 50,000 miles. If your vehicle has been modified to produce more power than stock or if it is regularly track-driven, we recommend shorter 30,000-mile service intervals. This will ensure your transmission's fluid is free from contamination, which will help extend the life of internal transmission components, such as clutch packs and solenoids.

No need to track down the correct fluid and plugs, simply open the box, and get the job done the correct way. By servicing your DCT transmission, you will be assured that old, broken down fluid won't cause a several thousand dollar nightmare. Turner Motorsport recommends this service every 40,000 miles to keep your transmission going strong for years to come. Kit includes: 5 quarts of Pentosin DCTF-1 fluid DCT transmission cartridge and suction filters Drain and fill plugs Oil pan with gasket Please note: We include 5 quarts of DCT fluid because without a GT1 diagnostic tool and much more involved labor, you will not be able to replace over 5 quarts of fluid. Many elect to do this service and simply flush the fluid 5,000 miles later to ensure all fluid has been flushed, but this is not mandatory. Both the cartridge and suction filters have their own challenges in replacing. For best results, replace both.

This is Red Line's latest synthetic transmission fluid that is compatible with BMW's MTF-LT3 transmission fluid. This is the transmission fluid used in both manual and automatic transmissions since the mid-2000's. To confirm, check the decal located on the side of your transmission. Price is per quart.

Synthetic D6 ATF is a lower viscosity version of the D4ATF and is designed for better fuel efficiency in CAFE testing. Dexron VI requires a different approach to a conventional ATF formulation. Rather than beginning with a 7.5 cSt fluid and allowing a viscosity loss in use to drop to 5.5 cSt, the Dexron VI fluid requires a starting viscosity of less than 6.4 and a final drop to no less than 5.5 cSt. Red Line D6 will drop to no less than 6.1 cSt. Since the final viscosity after use of these fluids are similar, Dexron VI fluids can be used where Dexron III fluidswere previously recommended (with the exception of some manual transmission applications, our customers report).

D6 ATF also provides significantly improved gear protection and will provide a GL-4 level of gear protection. The balanced frictional characteristics provide smooth and consistent shifts for extended drain intervals. The superior stability compared to petroleum ATFs allows high-temperature operation without varnishing valves and clutches which leads to transmission failure.
