Set of 12 ProSeries connecting rod bolts, made by ARP -- the world leader in fastener technology. Each bolt is made of ARP2000 material, which exceeds the strength of 8740 Chrome Moly, and is able to achieve clamp load at 220,000psi. ARP2000 fasteners are used widely in motorsport and drag racing as an upgrade from 8740 Chrome Moly in both steel and aluminum rods. These are simply the best connecting rod bolts available, making them ideal for ultra high performance, racing and forced induction applications.
This set replaces the factory BMW rod bolt number 11-24-1-739-728 (11241739728) which measures 44mm in length. The 44mm BMW rod bolt was used on all US spec E36 M3 (3.0 and 3.2 liter), 1999-2000 E46 323i/323Ci, 2001-2005 325i/325Ci, Z3 1.9,2.5 and 3.2, as well as Z4 2.5. It was also used on SOME of the M50 2.5 liter engines from 1992-1995 -- but check before ordering! Opened ARP bolt kits are not returnable. If your M50 2.5 liter engine has 53mm rod bolts, you will require kit part# 201-6301 instead.

If you have ever attempted to do a valve job or cylinder head gasket project on an M42, M44, M50, or M52 engine you know that the repair manual will refer to the special BMW timing tool kit. This tool kit includes a flywheel locating lock pin, and a special set of camshaft locators that lock the cams in a precise location. The tools are very easy to install. The kit is specifically designed to hold the engine and cams in proper timing during the cylinder head removal and re installation process. This avoids the chance of bending the valves doing the head install process. The precision ground holding blocks lock over the square ends of both intake and exhaust cams. The CNC machined flywheel locating pin passes through a hole in the rear of the engine block and passed through a machined hole in the flywheel.
To avoid improper cam timing on the latest BMW engines, the factory has devised a cam timing system that locks the crankshaft and cams into a specific position prior to cylinder head removal. This method was devised to avoid any misalignment, resulting in piston to valve damage. Unfortunately without these tools re-timing the camshafts after a valve job is almost impossible. The factory specification manual does not supply installation specifications. This cam timing kit includes all the necessary components to do the job.

Collapsing and worn engine mounts can mean big trouble for BMWs. The stock mounts are filled with fluid that can leak or evaporate over time. That leaves the mount unstable and too flexible to properly support the engine. The side effects of a worn engine mount are: shaking and vibrating engine, driveline twist from engine torque that can break or snap bushings, and broken motor mount arms and bolts. If you're tired of replacing engine mounts you'll be very pleased wtih these solid rubber versions. The early M5X engines have well-documented issues caused by harmonics. The extreme vibrations cause the weak oil pump shaft to shear off or the oil pump nut to come loose and fall off, all of which results in an instant loss of oil pressure. Achilles Motorsports decided to develop a solution to fix all of these known issues. Achilles takes their oil pump shafts to the extreme, using only the toughest materials and heat treatment processes to ensure optimum strength. The core of this kit is a hardened Chromoly shaft that is centerless ground to ensure absolute trueness. The shaft is engineered with an exclusive square key lock system that not only prevents the gear from ever spinning on the shaft but also adds strength to the area to which the gear mounts. Achilles Motorsports then replaced the pesky oil pump nut with an extended length bolt that is EDM drilled for safety wire to properly secure it for all conditions. This is a Genuine BMW Upper Idler Pulley, also known as the roller pulley or deflection pulley. The upper and lower idler pulleys are known to be the primary sources for 'belt squealing'. The pulley is also encased in rubber which will crack over time. If left without service the rubber could fail completely, chucking the belt and leaving you stranded. The engine crankcase in you car is filled with oil to keep everything lubricated, and to keep the oil inside of the engine, seals are used anywhere there is a seam in the engine, or any place a shaft protrudes from the engine. One such seal is the front main crankshaft seal. This seal is located around the the crankshaft at the front of the engine, and keeps oil from leaking out around the crankshaft. The Achilles Motorsports Oil Pan Baffle was designed and manufactured to be used on racing, high-performance track, and street driven cars. Each baffle is precision laser cut from .090" heat-treated aluminum then hand-assembled and test fit to ensure accuracy and ease of installation. Achilles Motorsports' baffle design incorporates dual trap doors and a unique oil deflector that prevents oil from splashing out of the sump under hard braking. Together, these help minimize the sloshing of the oil inside the oil pan and keep oil accumulated around your pickup tube. The factory BMW oil pan doesn't do a very good job of keeping oil accumulated around the oil pick-up tube in high g-force situations.
