A new oxygen sensor can improve driveability and lengthen engine life. Ultimately, you achieve a smoother running engine that is more fuel efficient. Feedback from the oxygen sensor provides closed-loop control of the injected quantity of fuel for optimum air-fuel mixture, enabling virtually complete combustion to take place. Contaminants in gas and certain atmospheric conditions can drastically shorten the life of any oxygen sensor, therefore they should be checked with every periodic maintenance and changed if necessary. Our new E36 Axle Back Exhaust is a versatile exhaust offering a number of options for E36 owners. With the factory exhaust you can upgrade to having valve control for different tone and volume options on the fly. For the fully upgraded or turbo owners this exhaust features a 2.0" to 3.0" exhaust pipe conversion and full 3.0" valved muffler that can be used with a custom full 3.0" exhaust.
When it comes to shopping for exhausts you want to find one that suits your driving style and sound preference. While one part of you wants to have a loud and aggressive sounding exhaust, there is another part of you that knows you don't want to wake up the neighborhood or annoy your significant other. Finally the answer to your dilemma, thanks to our engineers at Turner you no longer need to choose between rowdy and tame. With your new light-weight performance exhaust you have the option to go from tame and tasteful to loud and rowdy.
Our Valved exhaust was designed specifically for your E36 and there are no other options on the market like this. Control the tone and volume of your exhaust with the click of a button. With the valves closed you have a nice low tone and hearty exhaust note. When the valves are open you get complete unrestricted access to sound and power for when your at the track or just in the mood to let it rip.
Our Turner axleback features dual 2.0" to 3.0" adapter that connects directly to your factory mid-pipes. From the adapter is full 3.0" exhaust piping with a smooth flow path to lower back pressure which leads to increased performance and a smoother exhaust tone. The 3.0" rear exhaust section flows into a full 3" valved muffler. The muffler features integrated 3" exhaust tips for an aggressive look that fills out your rear diffuser to get the perfect appearance.
New in 2023 you have two new options for E36 exhausts, our Turner valved and non valved axle back exhaust setups. With our Non Valved Axle-Back you achieve a happy medium of volume and tone but without the ability to adjust the volume. Our Valved Axle-Back is another variation and a true weapon, not only does it have the option to fit to your factory exhaust system but it is also the clear option for those looking to make a full 3.0" exhaust. After putting together the front 3.0" exhaust section you can assemble it with our Turner Valved Axle-Back for not only a full custom 3.0" exhaust but also have the luxury of volume control all with perfectly paired integrated 90's styled exhaust tips that fill out the rear valance with perfect proportions.
Non-M Fitment:
Although we designed this exhaust specifically for the M3 model we felt it was a shame to rob this exhaust opportunity from the Non-M E36 owners. Face it, every straight six deserves a sweet exhaust. If you or your fellow enthusiasts feel so inclined our exhaust can be fitted to all standard 6 cylinder E36s. ** For non-m E36s you will have to slightly bend the exhaust hangers to get perfect fitment in the non-m rear bumper/diffuser. **
