Our downpipes are the first part of our modular exhaust system and are compatible with factory mid-pipes and our upcoming CTS Turbo mid-pipes. You should expect strong torque gains when paired with appropriate tuning software. We used CAD simulation to streamline the flow of exhaust gasses and ensure seamless integration with the factory and CTS exhaust components. This axle-back exhaust system is manufactured entirely from titanium. This makes this system ideal for cutting weight while being structurally stronger than the OE exhaust system. The engineers at Akrapovic have retained the dual mode exhaust flap control from the original system. This allows the vehicle to have a more civilized, but deeper than stock sound at low speed. However, at higher RPM (or when selecting the S mode on the gearshift) the muffler is bypassed, creating a deep and sporty sound much more in keeping with the personality of the car. The included exhaust pipe tips are made completely from titanium OR a carbon fiber/titanium composite to add a high-end, refined style. Performance has not been left out of the design. The system dramatically reduces backpressure and is an excellent starting point for further engine tuning or turbo modifications. Even when installed on an otherwise stock vehicle a gain of 7.3 horsepower and 17.4 Nm/12.8 lbs-ft of torque are achieved. Furthermore, a weight reduction of 3.0 kg/6.6 lbs. is realized. The OEM catalysts are retained, so no reflashing of the ECU is required and the check engine light will not be triggered. This kit builds on the success and knowledge of the previous turbo projects we have made and incorporates new technology to optimize performance and maintain factory fitment. Our engineers utilized transient flow analysis and flow bench testing to optimize the twin-scroll turbine housing while maintaining stock fitment, stock location, and stock wastegates. This allows for the use of any stock fitment downpipes, intakes, and charge pipes. The result is an impressive 808whp on a built engine with supporting mods. You can simply transfer your factory wastegates, high-performance downpipes, intake, and charge pipes during the installation. No custom parts are needed and all factory installation hardware and gaskets are used! The kit features complete brand-new turbochargers and large inlet pipes. No need for cores to be sent in or purchased. Each turbocharger is VSR balanced to exceed OE tolerances with upgraded heavy-duty bearings and thrust washers. We supply reinforced silicone inlets, that are compatible with any intake system. These inlets will not collapse or deform under vacuum. Our turbochargers are designed to move a lot of air at lower boost levels, which means you can make some serious power without over-speeding the turbos, which means reliable performance. Optimal boost levels are 24-25psi with approximately 85-88% WGDC. This must be confirmed by your tuner and adjusted, depending on your build.
