In order to keep oil temperatures down (something many late model M cars have struggled with) requires a large oil cooler. BMW engineers positioned the oil cooler quite low under the car, positioned horizontally - an aerodynamic design which creates a vacuum force while driving, drawing heat from the oil cooler. Once the belly pan is damaged, there is no longer any protection for the oil cooler, meaning damage to the cooler and a catastrophic loss in oil pressure may be right around the corner.

The F8x M3/M4 models are simply amazing to drive, don't let road debris keep you from enjoying the moment. These cars have so much packed under the hood to get you this experience that it causes the oil cooler to be placed face down to the road. This makes the cooler an easy target for impact since the stock belly pan is designed from flexible plastic material. We've seen stories from small branches, scrap pieces that fell from trucks to large ice chunks that impact the cooler immediately draining the car of its oil. If you don't catch this right away this could cause serious internal engine damage from oil starvation. Turner's in-house engineering team designed a skid plate to protect your oil cooler from these unfortunate situations and still maintain a stock-like architecture. The idea was to design something much stronger that still keeps the weight to a minimum, using 8 GA 5052 Aluminum covered their goal coming in at only 5 lbs. Since the Turner skid plate weighs only 3 lbs more than the plastic OE piece, this makes the Turner plate the lightest metal option on the market. This skid plate requires no modification and mounts using the existing factory hardware the OE belly pan was fastened with. Using a trim seal to press against the oil cooler allows the airflow to pull heat from the cooler like a vacuum the same way the OE belly pan was designed. Looking to boost the visual appeal of your F82/F83 M4? We are proud to finally offer our very own Turner Motorsport Carbon Fiber Side Skirts! The Carbon Fiber Side Skirts were designed in-house using state of the art 3D laser scanning and CAD modeling for exact precision and fitment. To ensure the side skirts look great and last for years to come, they are constructed using hand laid pre-impregnated 2x2 carbon fiber and then autoclave cured. This ensures the carbon fibers pattern remains perfect and we get even epoxy distribution for greater strength. To finish the side skirts, we apply clear coat for greater longevity and UV protection. To add an even greater performance aesthetic to both the side skirts and your BMW, we have incorporated winglets, a feature not often included on other side skirt sets. Even better yet, you can choose from two sizes, small or large! These are constructed in the same method as the side skirts and mount at the rear of the side skirts just before the rear tires, giving the side skirt a great racing style. These side skirts mount to the existing rocker cover mounting locations with the included hardware.
