The cooling system is arguably the weakest point in numerous BMWs. If you drive an aging BMW or plan on taking your car to the track like we do, we recommend beefing up your cooling system before going to the track. Generally, the main components in your cooling system that are prone to failure include the following: expansion tank, factory hoses, water pump, thermostat, fan (especially if your vehicle comes factory with a clutch fan), and radiator. Factory BMW expansion tanks are plastic and prone to either breaking off at connection points or combusting. As factory rubber hoses age they either crack or break over time - we offer silicone cooling hose upgrades for most applications to avoid future failures. If you have an older vehicle, your water pump likely comes from the factory with a plastic impeller - we offer upgraded water pumps with metal impellers that are far more reliable. Newer model BMWs utilize electric water pumps - BMW spent millions of dollars engineering these water pumps, but they fail so often that we recommend replacing at 60,000 mile service intervals to avoid being stranded on the side of the road. In terms of thermostats, we offer various upgraded thermostats for racing applications. If your BMW utilizes a clutch fan from the factory, we have several options available in terms of universal electric fans - we recommend replacing these to avoid sending brittle plastic fan blades through your hood. For radiators, we recommend swapping out your radiator for one that does not use plastic connection points like your factory radiator.

Replace your fragile OEM plastic coolant bleeder screw, which is prone to cracking and failure, with a premium titanium upgrade built for strength and style under the hood. Factory plastic components weaken over time due to constant heat cycles, leading to brittleness and potential failure. Our titanium replacement delivers superior durability, being twice as strong as aluminum yet 45% lighter than steel, ensuring unmatched resilience and long-term reliability for your coolant system. More than an upgrade, it’s a must-have for engine longevity. CNC-machined from solid titanium, each screw features a laser-etched Burger Motorsports logo and is hand-burned to create unique color patterns—no two are alike. A heavy-duty replacement O-ring is included for a perfect fit.

Your turbo is constantly working under extreme heat and pressure, generating serious boost every time you get on the gas. The turbo cooling lines are responsible for circulating coolant through the turbocharger, keeping temperatures in check and safeguarding internal components from excessive heat. With time, these lines can corrode, crack, or clog—compromising coolant flow and system efficiency. If left unchecked, a failing line can lead to overheating, loss of performance, or even costly turbo damage. Why replacing them matters: Protect your turbo – Ensures proper cooling to prevent heat soak and extend turbo life. Stop leaks early – Prevent small coolant drips from turning into bigger, more expensive problems. Keep performance consistent – Reliable cooling means steady boost and dependable operation. Don’t let a tired cooling line put your turbo at risk—replace it and keep your forced-induction system performing at its best.
