The purpose of a drift car is to hold extreme slip angles for as long as possible. In order to initiate and hold a drift, a high degree of steering lock is desirable. This is done by lengthening or shortening certain suspension arms and components. Care must be taken in doing so, however; since this will change the articulation path of said components. The compression and rebound capabilities of struts and springs are affected and the overall balance and responsiveness of the car transform for better or worse.
By utilizing a pre-built kit specifically designed for drifting the math and/or guesswork of changing suspension geometry is removed. Additionally, you have room to adjust the setup to your personal taste or driving style. This kit will swap out all of the suspension arms and knuckles on the front end to deliver an outstanding 60 degrees of steering lock while keeping the kinematics proper. It does so by raising the roll center and revising the steering geometry (Ackerman), which in turn reduces the amount of positive camber effect on the leading wheel when at an extreme angle. More predictable alignment torque is a byproduct of proper geometry, and that momentum killing up and down movement of the body (also known as "jacking") is severely limited.
