No more slow starts! Does your car feel old? Age may not be the issue at all, your throttle cable bushings are mostly likely worn out and your car has lost its pep!
Your throttle cable is the main connection you have from the gas pedal to the throttle body. Do you have hesitation or delayed pedal response? Think of when you are sitting at a stop light or making a turn into a flow of traffic, you may not realize it but if you haven't replaced your throttle cable and bushings this will require you to apply pressure to the gas pedal before getting feedback which can cause slow starts at stop lights and put you in danger when merging in traffic. These are not issues with old cars, they are issues related to your throttle response!
Symptoms to look for: lackluster/sloppy throttle actuation, deformed throttle cable appearance, and bushing condition. Your throttle cable bushings can be soft, cracked or even disintegrated by now.
Upgrade from failed rubber to new billet aluminum bushings for quick gas pedal response and a better engagement with your car.

The gears that drive the odometer in older BMW's had a habit of wearing down or breaking, leading to faulty reading on vehicle mileage. Unfortunately, these are not items you can get directly from BMW. Lucky for us, the team over at Odometer Gears started their business specifically for specialty items such as these.
Using plastic injection molding, Odometer Gears are able to create identical gears that restore perfect function to your odometer. The process is relatively simple and allows for your car to show correct mileage.
This third gear is an MM3 40x22 gear that is used only in E30 BMW's with the MotoMeter gauge cluster. This is the only third gear option available for the MotoMeter odometer system. This is easily determined by checking the back of the cluster when it is removed for the MotoMeter logo on the exposed portion of the circuit board.
Fits the following vehicles:
1982-1991 E30 BMW All submodels

This product reinforces the metal swaybar link mounting point on the rear trailing arm. The sheet metal breaks off the trailing arm due to the constant up and down loads being placed on the trailing arm from the swaybar. Problems increase when larger sway bars are used. This product eliminates the problem by thickening the sheet metal and triangulating the mounting point. A good time to install this kit would be when you are doing any rear suspension work, exhaust, or even if you are just doing a differential fluid change. This part requires welding for installation.

This third gear is an E3 48x14 gear with a plastic neck and only fits E30 BMW's with the VDO gauge cluster.
This is easily determined by checking the back of the cluster when it is removed for the VDO logo on the exposed portion of the circuit board. In addition to needing to identify the specific type of gauge cluster, either VDO or MotoMeter, you must also identify the total amount of teeth this gear has. There is no way to determine this from any external part numbers and the teeth must be physically counted to ensure you are ordering the correct part. The E3 gear has 48 teeth on the outside and either 12 teeth or 14 teeth on an attached underside gear. This is the number that must be verified, 12 or 14.
Fits the following vehicles:
1982-1991 E30 BMW All submodels

Every E30 M3 that comes into our shop gets the front swaybar tab inspected. This is such a common problem but with an easy fix. If left to worsen you may be looking at an entire strut housing replacement. Fix it now with these reinforcing plates and a little welding! Not only will modified suspensions put stress on the mounts but age will reduce their strength as well. Reinforcing the swaybar mount to the strut will keep your swaybar geometry in spec and prevent a costly and ugly repair.
